The tragic news was revealed by the Coronation Street star in an emotional social media post, leaving fans, colleagues, and the entertainment world in shock.

William Rush was best known for his role as Josh Stevenson on the BBC drama Waterloo Road, where he appeared in more than 160 episodes early in his career.

He also appeared in Grange Hill, Shameless, Vera, Casualty and briefly on Coronation Street alongside his mother.
