Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation has agreed to sell its entire Japan business to Japanese private‑equity firm Unison Capital, Inc. in a deal valued at roughly $65 million in cash , the company announced this week. The sale, expected to close in the first quarter of 2026 , will transfer ownership of Krispy Kreme Japan , which operates 89 stores and nearly 300 fresh delivery points across major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka. Krispy Kreme says it plans to use the proceeds — after fees and expenses — to reduce debt and strengthen its financial position as part of its broader turnaround strategy.  This marks the company’s first international refranchising deal under the plan launched earlier this year.  CEO Josh Charlesworth described the deal as progress toward greater financial flexibility and the right long‑term partnership for the brand in Japan.  Unison Capital, founded in 1998, brings experience investing in consumer and retail sectors across Japan and South Korea.  Unison said it’s excited…
