Police arrest Salim Mohammed over GHC 7.5M robbery

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of a key suspect believed to be involved in the dramatic GHS 7.5 million daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka , which occurred in November 2024 . The arrest marks a major breakthrough in what has been one of the most brazen armed robbery cases in recent memory. Daylight Robbery Shocks Adabraka Community On the morning of Saturday, November 2, 2024 , armed and masked gunmen launched a bold attack near the bustling Adabraka market in central Accra . The gang targeted a vehicle carrying proceeds from a gold transaction at Cabest Jewellery , seizing approximately GHS 7.5 million as it was being driven to a bank. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fired multiple shots into the air, creating panic among bystanders before forcing the driver out and loading sacks of cash into a getaway vehicle.
